Shannon Stowell serves as the CEO of the Adventure Travel Trade Association since April 2004, guiding nearly 1,400 members from tour operators to tourism boards in over 100 countries within the adventure travel industry. As a Founding Board Member of the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund since September 2016, Shannon supports grassroots projects aimed at preserving environments and benefiting local communities involved in adventure travel. Previously holding a Board Member position with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council from April 2010 to 2014, Shannon contributed to the nonprofit's mission with a diverse global membership. Prior to these roles, Shannon was the Vice President of Business Development at Altrec.com, leading partnerships with notable companies, and managed business development at North Creek Analytical, gaining international experience in the Asian market. Shannon Stowell completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Seattle Pacific University from 1986 to 1990.
