Ramesh Nathan, MD, FIDSA has extensive work experience in the field of infectious diseases and medical leadership. Ramesh began their career as an Internal Medicine Intern and Resident at Cedars-Sinai from 2000 to 2003. Ramesh then pursued a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at UCLA Health from 2003 to 2005.
In 2005, Dr. Nathan started working as an Infectious Diseases Physician at Mark H Mazur MD & Barry Statner MD A Professional Corporation. Ramesh held this position until present.
From 2016 onwards, they also served as a Physician at TeleMed2U, providing telemedicine services for infectious diseases consultations, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection prevention at rural and critical access designated hospitals.
In 2015, Dr. Nathan became the Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Hospital Epidemiology at Adventist Health. In this role, they oversaw the implementation and daily operations of Antimicrobial Stewardship programs at AH Simi Valley and Clearlake, achieving a 20% reduction in antimicrobial use.
Since 2023, Dr. Nathan has been the Medical Director for California at Metro Infectious Disease Consultants. Ramesh leads the infectious diseases rotation for the GME program and coordinates educational and research activities for the division. Ramesh also serves on the Medical Executive Committees of Los Robles Health System and Adventist Health Simi Valley, as well as leading the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention teams at both hospitals.
Dr. Nathan has also held various other positions throughout their career, including Chairman of Quality Forum and Sepsis Operations Committees, Program Director of the Transitional Year Residency Program, Director of Infectious Diseases for the Internal Medicine GME program, Vice Chief of Staff, and Chief of Staff at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center.

Ramesh Nathan, MD, FIDSA completed their education with a Bachelor of Science - BS (Seven Year BA/MD Program) in Chemistry from The George Washington University in 1996. Following that, they earned a Doctor of Medicine - MD degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2000. Prior to attending university, Ramesh received a High School Diploma from Viewpoint School in 1993. Ramesh also holds additional certifications including a Subspecialty Certification in Infectious Disease obtained in December 2015 and a Diplomate, American Board Of Internal Medicine obtained in June 2013.
