Brian G. Hoover has worked in the field of optics since 1993. Brian G. began as a Research Assistant at the University of Houston and then moved on to the University of Michigan College of Engineering as a Research Assistant & Post-Doc in 1996. In 2000, they became an Engineer at Celeste Optics, followed by a Scientist role at Applied Technology Associates in 2001. In 2004, they founded and became the CEO of Advanced Optical and also took on the role of Chief Technology Officer. As CTO they were the inventor and developer of the CrystalView laser polarized-light microscope (PLM), the only quantitative wide-field PLM on the market. Brian G. is an expert in optical and electrodynamic modeling, optical metrology, and instrument and laboratory development, with essential systems engineering, program management, and facility and security oversight.
Brian G. Hoover received their PhD in EE/Optics from the University of Michigan in 2000, and their BS in Physics from the University of Houston in 1995.
