Javier Garzón's work experience begins with their current role as a Research Scientist at Adrestia Therapeutics, starting in April 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Aberdeen from January 2016 to April 2021. Javier'searliest work experience was as a Researcher PhD Student at Universidad de Salamanca, where they worked from September 2010 to September 2015.

Javier Garzón has an extensive education background in the field of molecular biology and biochemistry. Javier obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Biology from the Universidad de Salamanca, completing their studies from 2010 to 2015. Prior to their PhD, Javier completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the same university, graduating in 2012. Javier also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry, which they acquired from the Universidad de Salamanca between 2008 and 2010. Additionally, Javier pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Pharmacy from 2004 to 2009 at the same institution.

In terms of certifications, Javier has further enhanced their knowledge by obtaining several certifications from Coursera. In June 2020, they completed the certifications for "Bioconductor for Genomic Data Science" and "Statistics for Genomic Data Science." In May 2020, they achieved the certification for "Algorithms for DNA Sequencing" and "Command Line Tools for Genomic Data Science." Lastly, in April 2020, they obtained the certifications for "Genomic Data Science with Galaxy" and "Python for Genomic Data Science."
