Iris Mirte D. has a diverse work experience in various fields. Iris Mirte'smost recent position is as a Product Support Engineer in the healthcare industry at Adimec Advanced Image Systems bv. Prior to this, they worked as an Intern in Supply Chain at JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS. Iris Mirte also served as a Student Ambassador at Universiteit Utrecht and as a Student Research Assistant in Biofabrication at UMC Utrecht, where they conducted research on the fabrication of 3D tubular scaffolds for tissue regeneration purposes. Iris also had a Graduate Research Internship in Biofabrication at UMC Utrecht, where they focused on the same area of research. Iris Mirte completed internships at Universiteit Maastricht, where they conducted research on the development of the embryonic heart and the application of 3D anatomical models in embryology education, as well as on the principles behind the 'iKnife' technology at the Maastricht MultiModal Molecular Imaging (M4I) Institute. Prior to their academic roles, Iris worked as an International Student Advisor at the International Student Helpdesk - Student Service Center, where they assisted international students with financial and legal issues. Iris Mirte also had previous experience as a Medewerker Verkoopklaar & Verkoopafhandeling at Albert Heijn.

Iris Mirte D. began their education history in 2011 at College Den Hulster, where they completed their vwo diploma in Natuur & Gezondheid. From 2017 to 2020, they attended Maastricht University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedische wetenschappen (Biomedical Sciences). During their time at Maastricht University, in 2019-2020, Iris also pursued a minor in Entrepreneurship. From 2020 to 2022, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Science and Business Management at Utrecht University.

In addition to their formal education, Iris has obtained several certifications. In 2017, they obtained an EF English Test C2.1 level certification from EF Education First. In 2020, they completed the 5 Day Coding Challenge certification from Code Institute. More recently, in January 2022, they obtained a Vrijwiliggersproject Maatschappelijke Diensttijd (MDT) certification from Stichting SeniorenStudent.
