Nyla Naim is a Senior Scientist and Scientific Support Manager at Addgene since January 2020, overseeing a team of Senior Scientists to provide global scientific expertise and develop guidelines for high-quality technical support. Previous experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont, where protocols for live-cell imaging were established for cancer research, and as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, focused on designing innovative plasmids for optogenetic applications. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Chemical Biology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University at Albany. Additional background features teaching experience in China and tutoring high school students in science and mathematics.
