Sharique Alam has a diverse work experience in the field of technology services. Sharique started their career as a Software Engineer at Jay Instruments & Systems Pvt. Ltd. in 1997 and worked there until 1999. Sharique then joined Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank in 1999, where they held various positions.
At Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Sharique started as a Programmer/Analyst and served as a technical expert for the Flexcube Treasury System. Sharique provided 24x7 support services, troubleshooting, and system enhancements for the system. Sharique maintained knowledge of application and database architecture.
From 2004 to 2007, Sharique worked as a Senior Analyst, where they prepared functional and technical specifications for the implementation of various applications/projects. Sharique also handled change requests and provided 24x7 support for critical applications.
In 2007, Sharique took on the role of Assistant Project Manager in the Project Management Office (P.M.O). Sharique assisted the Project Manager in organizing and managing complex IT projects, maintaining project-related documents, studying technical proposals, and making technical recommendations. Sharique also coordinated with the Infrastructure team for hardware requirements and executed test plans.
From 2008 to 2011, Sharique worked as a Project Manager in the P.M.O, where they were responsible for the implementation of projects within budget and time constraints. Sharique managed project planning, scheduling, tracking, issue identification and resolution, vendor and stakeholder management, risk management, and budget management. Sharique also developed project deliverables and documentation.
In 2011, Sharique was promoted to Assistant Vice President, where they facilitated actionable IT solutions that provided value to the business and satisfied the needs of stakeholders. Sharique executed the bank's IT strategy, directly managed a team, and analyzed operational results to find more efficient ways to utilize resources.
In 2016, Sharique became the Platform Lead in the Technology Services department, where they headed a team of banking technology professionals. Sharique was responsible for resourcing and prioritization, supporting business partners with technology solutions, handling transformation and change management, and implementing key initiatives for Wholesale Credit, Finance, Risk, and Compliance.
Throughout their career, Sharique demonstrated a strong alignment between IT and the business, delivering successful projects and providing support across various roles and responsibilities.
Sharique Alam obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from M.V.J. College of Engineering, Bangalore University, India from 1992 to 1996.
