Nicholas O'Connor

Software Engineer at Adaptiva

Nicholas O'Connor has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Nicholas started their career as an Instructor at Mathnasium - The Math Learning Center, where they taught mathematics to students in grades K-12 and assisted with test preparations.

In 2018 and 2019, Nicholas worked at MOD Pizza as a Squad Member, contributing to a fast-paced team environment. Nicholas'sresponsibilities included handling food, providing excellent customer service, and completing sales through a point-of-sale system.

In 2020, Nicholas worked as a Software Engineer Intern at SimonComputing, Inc. Nicholas collaborated with a team of interns to develop a front- and back-end framework for a web application, focusing on front-end presentation and UI/UX.

In 2021, Nicholas interned at Amazon as an SDE Intern, where they successfully retooled an existing application for internal payments. Nicholas overcame challenges by leveraging internal resources and knowledge from senior engineers.

In 2022, Nicholas joined Amazon as a Software Development Engineer I. Nicholas contributed to project planning, design, and implementation, specializing in back-end business logic and integration between different services. Nicholas utilized AWS services, including the CDK package.

Most recently, in 2023, Nicholas joined Adaptiva as a Software Engineer, where they continue to expand their technical skills and contribute to the development of software products.

Nicholas O'Connor received their high school diploma from Kettle Run High School from 2014 to 2018. Afterward, they attended the University of Virginia where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from 2018 to 2022. In May 2022, Nicholas obtained their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science certification from the University of Virginia.
