Rod King has extensive work experience primarily in sales and management roles. Rod started their career in 1962 as a forklift operator and order picker at Levi Strauss & Co. From 1967 to 1972, they worked as an outside commission sales representative at Wilson Sales Corp., selling automotive and body shop equipment and supplies. In 1972, they joined Zep Inc. (formerly Acuity Specialty Products), where they held various positions, including Sales Manager-Hawaii, Pacific Divisional Director of Sales for the Pacific Basin, and Regional Sales Manager-Hawaii. In these roles, they managed sales teams, conducted hiring and training, and handled a range of responsibilities, including sales, customer service, and distribution. Rod also has experience in dancing.

Rod King attended San Jose City College from 1961 to 1965, where they obtained an Associate of Arts degree. Rod'sstudies were focused on Marketing and Psychology.
