Karthik Vijayapalan has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Karthik began their career at Infosys in 2002, where they worked as a Business Analyst in the Fintech sector until 2004. Karthik then joined American Express as a Project Manager in Banking & Financial Services Technology, where they worked until 2006. In 2007, they joined Michigan State University as a Lecturer and Doctoral Candidate, and they stayed there until 2010. During their time at Michigan State University, they concurrently worked at Acuity Knowledge Partners from 2010 onwards. At Acuity Knowledge Partners, they held various roles, including SVP of Quantitative Research & Investments from 2010-2015, and later became the Head of Banking & Capital Markets Sales.
Karthik Vijayapalan graduated with a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, between 1998 and 2002. Karthik then pursued higher education and completed an MBA at the Indian School of Business in 2007. After that, they joined Michigan State University in 2007 to work towards a PhD in Finance and Econometrics, which they were in the process of completing by 2010.
