Barbara Rodriguez

Regional Director, Academic Programs at ACUE

Dr. Rodriguez is the Regional Director of Academic Programs for ACUE. She has taught in higher education for more than 20 years and continues to teach as adjunct faculty. Rodriguez has taught developmental English, composition, literature, and humanities courses. ACUE’s mission to improve student achievement through effective instruction was similar to Rodriguez’s goal while serving in administrative roles that championed faculty development. Consequently, after becoming more familiar with ACUE through an institutional partnership, Rodriguez felt that joining the ACUE team provided an opportunity of a lifetime—to improve student achievement through effective instruction beyond the walls of one institution.

Rodriguez is a professor, administrator, and higher education consultant. She served as the associate vice president for the Center for Teaching Excellence and Learning and the district director for the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) at Broward College. Prior to working at Broward College, she served as the senior assessment and planning associate and the director of testing at Miami Dade College. Before relocating to Florida, she was full-time faculty, department chairperson, and academic dean at Central Carolina Community College in North Carolina.
