Rory Dobson has a range of work experience in various roles and industries. Starting in 2012, Rory worked as a Kitchen Porter at Goodbrand and Ross, where they gained valuable skills in hospitality and customer care. In 2018, they taught English as a Foreign Language in Cambodia through Camp Cambodia, focusing on teaching basic subjects to children aged 7 to 14. Rory then became a Project Manager at Heriot-Watt University in 2019, leading a four-person app development team. This team won the 2019 DSP Curriculum Project in collaboration with Edinburgh College. From 2017 to 2020, Rory worked as a Marshal at Gravity Trampoline Parks. In 2020, they joined Free.co.uk as a Full Stack Developer, working for a fintech/proptech B2C startup. Currently, Rory is a Backend Engineer at Acre, starting in 2022.
Rory Dobson attended Alford Academy from 2010 to 2016, where they completed their secondary education. Following that, they enrolled at Heriot-Watt University in 2016 and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science until 2017. From 2017 to 2021, Rory continued their studies at Heriot-Watt University, this time majoring in Computer Science and obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in the field.
