RocÃo Ortega is an accomplished communications strategist and writer with extensive experience in advocacy and program management across various international organizations. Currently serving at ACLU SoCal since August 2021, RocÃo manages written content and creates advocacy reports in both English and Spanish. Previously, RocÃo held the position of Senior Program Officer at Partners of the Americas, overseeing a USAID-funded project focused on education for Colombian returnees and Venezuelan refugee children. Additional roles include Graduate Research Assistant at Georgetown University, Consultant for Save the Children International on gender equality issues, and Senior Associate at the United Nations Foundation, where RocÃo implemented youth leadership programs globally.
