Melanie Penny Ochoa has extensive legal experience, currently serving as a Staff Attorney for Criminal Justice and Police Practices at the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California since October 2016. Prior roles include Associate at O'Melveny & Myers LLP from October 2012 to October 2016, Clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals from August 2011 to August 2012, and various legal internships and clerkships, including positions at Public Counsel and ACLU. Melanie holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Harvard Law School and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sociology and Social Policy from Harvard University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science and Government from Stanford University.
