Carolyn Edwards has a strong background in scientific research and program management. Carolyn is currently working at Achilles Therapeutics plc, where they started in November 2020 as the Research Collaborations & Operations Manager. In July 2021, they were promoted to Director of Research Programmes, and in January 2023, they became the Senior Director of Scientific Programmes. Prior to this, Carolyn worked at Crescendo Biologics Limited as a Senior Scientist from June 2012 to November 2020. Carolyn also worked at University College London as a Postdoctoral Research Associate from November 2010 to June 2012. Carolyn completed their PhD at Imperial College London as a PhD student from September 2007 to December 2010. Carolyn began their career as a Research Scientist at the Health Protection Agency from September 2004 to September 2007.

From 2001 to 2004, Carolyn Edwards obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biological Sciences from the University of Warwick. Following this, from 2007 to 2010 they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Immunology and Virology at Imperial College London.
