Cynthia D. Armster, Ed.D has had an extensive work experience in the field of higher education and leadership development. Their previous roles include serving as the Global Leaders Program Coordinator at the Illinois Institute of Technology from November 2018 to June 2020, a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Northern Illinois University from August 2016 to May 2018, and an Academic and Student Affairs Professional at City Colleges of Chicago from August 2011 to November 2013. Cynthia D. also worked as the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs at City Colleges of Chicago from April 2000 to August 2011. Prior to that, they held positions such as Tenured Associate Professor and Counseling Department Chair at Kennedy-King College from 1990 to 2000, and Director of Freshmen Services at Chicago State University from January 1986 to August 1990.
Cynthia D. Armster, Ed.D completed their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Counseling, Adult and Higher Education at Northern Illinois University from 2006 to 2021. In addition to their doctoral degree, they have obtained various certifications including an Anti-Racism Analysis certification from Roots of Justice in May 2021, a Systemic Anti-Oppression Coach certification from the International Coach Federation in February 2021, an Ontological Life Coach certification from Accomplishment Coaching in January 2021, and an Emancipatory Emotional Healing certification from The Association of Black Psychologists in December 2019.
