Lee King has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Lee started their career as an Engineering Apprentice at Network Rail in 1982 and worked there until 1987. Lee then joined Hanson Brick as a Special Projects - Mechanical Engineering employee from 1987 to 1990. Lee King then worked as an Electro-Mechanical Technician at Harcros Chemicals from 1990 to 1996. Following that, they were an Electro-mechanical Shift Engineer at Elementis Global from 1996 to 1999. From 1999 to 2007, Lee King worked at ACCO Brands in various roles, including Technical Manager, Engineering & Safety Manager, and European Environment, Health & Safety Manager. In 2007, Lee King joined Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service as a Fire-fighter, a position they held until 2014. Lee then returned to ACCO Brands in 2007 and held the positions of Director EHS & Facilities EMEA until 2021 when they were promoted to Senior Director EHS & Facilities EMEA.

Lee King has a diverse education history. They attended the Harvard Business School and obtained a degree in Leadership Development with a focus on Business Strategy and Execution in 2013. Prior to that, Lee King studied at the Chartered Occupational Safety & Health Practitioner and earned a degree in CMIOSH between 2002 and 2008. They also attended AMT International and completed a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety in 2003-2004. In 2001-2002, Lee King studied at Dunstable College in Bedfordshire and received a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. The earliest educational experience for Lee King was at Wolverton Technical Engineering College from 1982 to 1987, where they obtained an HNC & ONC degree in Electro-mechanical Engineering. Additionally, Lee King holds additional certifications such as the Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) from Prosci, obtained in 2020, and the Chartered qualification from IOSH, received in 2008.
