Michael Lake has worked for a variety of organizations in a variety of roles since 2008. From 2008 to 2013, they were the Executive Director of the World Class Cities Partnership at Northeastern University. Michael was also a Candidate for Lt. Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2013. From 2014 to 2016, they were the Interim Chief Financial Officer at Gates Healthcare Associates, Inc. From 2016 to 2017, they were a Principal Partner at Haynes & Associates, Inc. and from 2017 to 2020 they were a Contributing Editor at Smart & Resilient Cities. Additionally, they were a Keynote Speaker and Moderator for the Smart City Expert from 2011 to 2020. In 2020, they joined the Leadership Team at SmartCityX and the Advisor & Co-Chair for Cyber Resilience Task Force- G20 Global Smart City Alliance for the World Economic Forum. Michael is currently a Board of Advisor for Commodore Builders since 2022.
Michael Lake attended Northeastern University from 1996 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.). Michael's field of study included five majors: Finance, Management Info. Systems, Communications, Political Science and Entrepreneurship.
