Dave Payne has over 30 years of work experience in various senior management and documentation roles. Dave most recently worked as the Senior Manager of Technical Publications at Accela since March 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Documentation Services at InfoTrax Systems, where they focused on improving inter-department interactions and creating training materials. With EVault, Dave worked as a Technical Product Manager, responsible for designing user-friendly software and processes. Dave also held positions as a Manager of Information Development at Symantec, Manager of Documentation and Human Factors at LANDesk Software, Manager of User Experience at Intel, Manager of Documentation at Corel Corporation, and Director of Business Applications Documentation at Novell. Dave's early career includes roles as a Senior Manager and Writer/Manager of Documentation at WordPerfect Corporation.

Dave Payne attended the University of Utah from 1981 to 1985, where they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
