Thom Smith

Vice President Marketing at Acadia Software

Thom Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Thom is currently serving as the Vice President of Marketing at Acadia Performance Platform since December 2021. Prior to this role, they held the position of Marketing Director at the same company from April 2018 to December 2021.

Before joining Acadia Performance Platform, Thom worked as the Senior Marketing Manager at The Chronicle of Higher Education from January 2017 to April 2018. In this role, they successfully doubled the response rates for lead generation campaigns and implemented strategies to incorporate customer value propositions.

Thom also gained valuable experience at RISI, where they held multiple positions. Thom served as the Vice President of Marketing from March 2014 to December 2016, where they tripled the profit margin by introducing new strategies and aligning marketing to sales. Prior to this, they held the roles of Director of Marketing & Customer Insight from January 2013 to March 2014, Director of Marketing from January 2010 to January 2013, and Director of Online Products from December 2008 to January 2010.

Before joining RISI, Thom worked at The Baltimore Sun as the Director of Interactive Product Development and Design from September 2007 to November 2008. Thom was responsible for developing new online revenue sources and branding for The Sun and its clients. Earlier in their career, they held various roles at The Baltimore Sun, including Interactive Creative Services Manager, Senior Web Designer, and Web Designer.

Thom's early work experience includes a role as a Web Producer and Site Editor at The Indiana Gazette from November 1999 to August 2000.

Throughout their career, Thom has demonstrated a track record of implementing successful marketing strategies, improving lead generation and sales processes, and driving revenue growth. Thom'sexpertise lies in lead management, product marketing, customer insights, and online revenue generation.

Thom Smith completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the years 1994 to 1998. Later, from 2002 to 2006, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Publications Design at the University of Baltimore.
