Pieter Kuypers is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in EU, competition, and procurement law, currently serving as a Partner and Advocate at AKD since November 1988, where Pieter holds leadership roles in various practice groups. Pieter is also a Professor of European and National Procurement Law at Radboud University Nijmegen and a Guest Lecturer at Utrecht University, while contributing as a speaker for the Academy of European Law on public procurement law. Previously, Pieter held various positions, including Assistant Solicitor at Eversheds Sutherland, member of the Legal Affairs and Human Rights Committee at the European Parliament, and legal advisor at ABN AMRO Bank. Pieter's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in International Private Law from Leiden University and postgraduate qualifications in European law from Utrecht University and King's College.
