Alicia Pena Whalen is an experienced professional in international education and program management. Currently serving as the Curriculum Integration Manager at Academic Programs International since June 2019, Alicia has previously held significant positions such as Program Director for Latin America, Spain, Africa, and the Middle East at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Study Abroad Coordinator at the University of San Diego. Alicia’s extensive background includes the directorship of Latin American operations at International Studies Abroad, where responsibilities involved supervising a team, overseeing multi-country operations, and managing significant financial transactions. Alicia holds a Master of Science in Global Business Leadership from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Texas A&M University, complemented by studies at Universidad de Salamanca.
