Andreas Kussmaul is a seasoned professional in the field of engineering and product reliability, currently serving as Reliability Manager at Acacia Communications, a part of Cisco, since September 2014. In this role, Andreas leads the Reliability team, overseeing Integrated Product Qualifications and Reliability Programs while collaborating with major customers on technical reliability issues. Prior experience includes a tenure as Product Engineering Manager at Luminus Devices, where responsibilities encompassed managing product specifications and reliability assessments, as well as supporting new product introductions. Andreas also held positions as Lead Optical Engineer at Continuum Photonics, Consultant at Avanex France, Staff Engineer at Corning Lasertron, Staff Scientist at Spire Corporation, and Postdoctoral Associate at Bell Labs. Education includes a PhD in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS in Math/Physics from École Polytechnique.
