Douglas (Zeliang) Xu is a Principal Engineer at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) since January 2014, with expertise in hydrodynamic and performance analysis for marine and offshore structures, project management, and hull form optimization. Douglas progressed through various roles at ABS, starting as a Rotational Engineer in the Aspire Program, gaining comprehensive industry knowledge across multiple departments. Prior to joining ABS, Douglas completed a Master’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University of Michigan and interned as an Application Engineer at EXA Corporation, specializing in aerodynamic and thermal simulations. Additionally, Douglas holds a Master of Information and Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Tianjin University.
