Amit Aggarwal

Executive Director, Medical Affairs at ABPI

Amit Aggarwal has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Amit is currently serving as the Executive Director of Medical Affairs at The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) since December 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Medical Director of UK & Ireland at LEO Pharma from March 2020 to November 2021.

Amit also had a long tenure at Bayer, where they held various roles. Amit served as the Director of Medical Affairs, General Medicine from January 2016 to February 2020, leading a team of medical advisors, MSLs, and medical information across therapy areas like Cardiovascular, Women's Health, Men's Health, and Pulmonary Hypertension. Before that, they had global responsibilities in medical affairs for Women's Health, both in the region of EU/Canada and globally, from 2012 to 2015. Amit also held the position of Head of Medical Advisory for Women's Health in the UK from October 2011 to April 2012. Prior to this, they had various roles as a Medical Advisor/Senior Medical Advisor, starting from 2009, specializing in Women's Health and Oncology. Amit also worked as a Drug Safety Scientist from November 2007 to July 2009.

Amit Aggarwal's education history includes receiving a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Pharmaceutical Medicine from GMC/Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine in 2013. Amit also obtained a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine between 2008 and 2010. Prior to that, Amit received an MRCS degree from Royal College of Surgeons (Ed) from 2005 to 2007. Amit earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from University of London from 1999 to 2002, and a BA Hons, MA in Neuroscience from University of Cambridge from 1996 to 1999.
