Melissa Connors has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Melissa began their career in 2009 as an English Language Teacher at iTTTi Japan. Melissa then worked as a Youth Worker at Alternate Care and as a Research Assistant at Mamu Aboriginal Corporation in 2011. In 2012, they joined the Department of Social Services as a Program Officer, where they gained experience in Indigenous housing issues. Melissa then moved on to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, working in various roles including Government Engagement Coordinator, Cabinet Liaison Officer, and Advisor in the Economic Division. Melissa also worked at the National Indigenous Australians Agency as an Executive Officer and Departmental Liaison Officer. Currently, Melissa holds leadership positions as the Director of Business Strategy and Acting GM of Business Development & Employment at Aboriginal Hostels Limited. Melissa'sroles involve stakeholder engagement, strategic projects, and aligning organizational capabilities. Melissa Connors completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies from The University of Queensland in 2010. Melissa then pursued a Diploma of Government at the Canberra Institute of Technology. Additionally, Melissa studied at The Australian National University, focusing on Crawford School of Public Policy.
