Rob Poitras has extensive experience in mechanical design and engineering, currently serving as a Senior Mechanical Designer at Abiomed since October 1998, where responsibilities include designing medical products such as pumps and associated equipment that support cardiac function. Prior to this role, Rob held a position as a Machinist/Supervisor at Auburn International from October 1986 to August 1998, overseeing a team of machinists in the company's machine shop. Rob also gained experience as a Senior Test Technician at Varian Semiconductor for a brief period in 1986, where tasks involved testing radar amplifiers for the U.S. Additionally, Rob has an educational background in electronics and communication equipment repair from the US Army, completed from January 1983 to January 1984.
