Carl Cushman has extensive work experience in cybersecurity and related fields. Carl currently holds the position of Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at Abile Group, Inc. since 2023. Prior to this, they worked for the United States Air Force for over 17 years in various roles. These roles included Cyber Protection Team Senior Enlisted Leader, Cyberspace Operations Planner, Secondary Team Lead, Cyber Operations Instructor, Linux System Architect, Cyber Operator, and Avionics Technician. Their tenure at the Air Force lasted from 2006 to 2023, with each role demonstrating their expertise and commitment in the field.

Carl Cushman has a solid educational background in the field of cybersecurity. Carl obtained their Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus, where they studied from 2011 to 2017. Prior to that, they earned an Associate's degree in Cybersecurity from the Community College of the Air Force, attending from 2013 to 2014. Before focusing on cybersecurity, Carl pursued an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Avionics System Technology from the Community College of the Air Force, completing the program from 2010 to 2012.

In addition to their degrees, Carl Cushman holds multiple certifications that further enhance their expertise in the field. Carl obtained the GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC) from GIAC Certifications in January 2023. In April 2023, Carl earned the CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) certification from CompTIA. Furthermore, they obtained the GCIH certification from GIAC Certifications in April 2014 and the Security+ certification from CompTIA in August 2013. Their most recent certification is the Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst certification, obtained from GIAC Certifications in July 2020.
