Ethan Olsen has a diverse work experience in the field of lighting design and production. Ethan started their career in 2011 as an Assistant Lighting Designer, where they assisted experienced designers and was involved in various events such as the Tony Awards and performances in dance, theater, opera, and musicals. In the same year, they also worked as a Lighting and Electrics Intern at Pioneer Theatre Company, where they managed technical paperwork and collaborated with electrics crews.
In 2013, Olsen took on the role of Accounts Manager and Teller Trainer at America First Credit Union, where they trained new tellers and conducted staff meetings on operational changes. Ethan continued their lighting design career in 2016 as the Lighting Supervisor at New York University, overseeing lighting elements for 13 separate productions.
Olsen's freelance work as a Junior Art Director started in 2018, where they worked with an Art Director to maintain branding and aesthetic appearances of designs. Ethan also managed budgets and communicated with vendors.
In 2021, Olsen joined AbelCine as an AV CAD Engineer. Other notable experiences include working as a Production Assistant at The Lighting Design Group in 2017 and serving as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Utah, where they lectured on lighting properties and controlled theatrical lighting. Ethan Olsen completed their education in a chronological manner. Ethan began their academic journey in 2007 at Weber State University, where they pursued an Associate's degree in General Studies until 2008. Following this, from 2011 to 2014, they attended the University of Utah, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in the Performance Arts Design Program. Ethan continued their education at New York University from 2015 to 2018, earning a Master's Degree in Design for Stage and Film.
