Joonas Avik is a Laboratory Technician at ABC Labs since December 2020, specializing in the development of LC-MS methods for drug abuse analysis to ensure rapid result turnaround. Previously, Joonas served as a shift leader, enhancing throughput and quality for Covid-19 PCR testing. Joonas gained experience at AstaReal from October 2017 to October 2020, focusing on algae cultivation and maintaining culture conditions in bioreactors. During a Master's Thesis Project at the Computational Multi-Omics Lab from January to July 2020, Joonas analyzed genomic data from tumors to identify new biomarkers using R. Early career experience includes a summer role as a Customer Service Representative at BancTec, assisting customers with banking issues. Joonas holds Master's degrees in Medicinal Biotechnology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Biotechnology from Instituto Superior Técnico.
