Theo van Kempen currently serves as the Scientific Team Leader for Health Science at AAK, focusing on product development and validation of plant-based lipids for various health applications. Through an extensive academic and professional background, Theo has held positions such as Adjunct Professor at North Carolina State University, where expertise in swine nutrition and nutrient management was developed. Previous roles include Director of Technology and Market Development at Codexis, Product Manager for Swine at Royal Agrifirm Group, and Discovery Lead at Trouw Nutrition, among others. With a Ph.D. in Nutrition from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an Ir. in Animal Science from Wageningen University & Research, Theo has a rich history of contributions to nutrition research and innovations in the animal health sector.
