Russell Doucet has worked in the field of engineering since 1998. Russell began their career at Boeing as an Ordnance Engineer, where they inspected, tested, integrated, scheduled, and installed Ordnance on the Inertial Upper Stage Space Vehicle. Russell also contributed to Integrated Project Teams, Mission Readiness Reviews, and various other launch related continuous improvement teams, as well as training and coaching technicians during launch activities.
In 2004, Doucet moved to Science Application International Corporation as a System Safety Engineer. In 2005, they began working at Artic Slope Regional Corp as an Engineering Manager, where they managed, directed, led, and coordinated all administrative and technical operations of the Systems Engineering & Integration branch of the Constellation Ground Support Directorate (Level Four). Russell also planned, analyzed, and evaluated Constellation ground support system and subsystem requirements, and translated requirements into design criteria.
From 2011 to 2017, Doucet worked at Vencore Inc. as a System/Project Engineer, where they were responsible for Hypergol Service Equipment and Hazardous Gas Detection System Engineering. Russell also prepared costs, schedule estimates and managed project control accounts, and developed verifications, validations and turnover processes in accordance with NPR 7123.1.
Most recently, Doucet has been working at APT (A-P-T Research, Inc.) as a Mission Assurance Engineer with the SMASS III contract. This position requires proficiency in learning the Launch Service Program's fleet of launch vehicles, ground support equipment and occasionally spacecraft. Russell has supported a number of launch campaigns with odd work hours, extensive travel as well as onsite support at KSC.
Russell Doucet obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Southern Mississippi between 1981 and 1986. Russell then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology, General from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University between 1998 and 2000. In 2010, they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. In 2019, they obtained a United States Coast Guard Operators License, 100 Ton from the Homeland Security Foundation of America (HSFA).
