Kenneth Johnson has over fifteen years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS). Kenneth began their career in 2006 as a Semiconductor Equipment Engineer at Qimonda, where they developed, implemented, and owned contractor safety, new equipment installation safety, and equipment decommissioning and decontamination programs. In 2010, they became the EH&S Manager and Manufacturing Leader at Lighting Science Group Corporation, where they developed and implemented an ISO 14001 compliant environmental, health and safety program for a LED Lighting manufacturing facility. Kenneth then went on to become the EHS Specialist at Amazon in 2014, where they led the implementation and management of Amazon Global EH&S programs and metrics for a new facility with 80% new hires. In 2018, they took on the role of Operations Safety Manager at Brevard Achievement Center, where they developed and implemented safety training, industrial safety, chemical inventory, and hazardous waste management programs for twelve regional work sites. Most recently, in 2019, they became the EHS Manager at the University of Central Florida, where they performed semiconductor manufacturing facility environmental, health, and safety Gap Analysis and managed change control for hazardous processes. In 2021, they joined APT (A-P-T Research, Inc.) as a NASA EGS / SMASS Safety & Mission Assurance Engineer, providing safety oversight of flight hardware, ground support equipment processing, and assuring contractor compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
Kenneth Johnson obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from the University of Central Florida. Kenneth then went on to earn a Master of Business Administration in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix. In October 2019, Johnson obtained certifications in 40 Hour HAZWOPER and Hazardous Waste Management (RCRA) from Alpha-Omega Training and Compliance, Inc. (AOTC).
