Arpita Sen is currently a Senior Scientist at A-Alpha Bio, where they work on developing assays for olfactory GPCRs and optimizing them by DOE. Prior to this, they were a Scientist at Aromyx Corporation from May 2019 to July 2020, where their key responsibilities included assay development for olfactory GPCRs, assay optimization by DOE, and microscopy and image analysis to measure receptor expression.
Before their work at Aromyx Corporation, Arpita was a Co-Founder at Proteome.AI from March 2018 to April 2019. At Proteome.AI, they worked on developing an unbiased approach towards descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analysis of data using GPU clusters, multivariate analysis, and predictive analysis.
From May 2014 to December 2017, Arpita worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UC Berkeley. And prior to that, they were a PhD Fellow at Purdue University from August 2008 to December 2013. Her very first position was as a Project Assistant at the University of Calcutta from August 2007 to July 2008.
Arpita Sen's educational career began with a Bachelor of Science in Plant Sciences from Presidency College, University of Calcutta in India. Arpita then went on to earn a Master of Science in Biophysics and Molecular Biology from the University of Calcutta. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Purdue University.
