Nimna Perera has a diverse range of work experience. In 2017, they were an Associate Image Processing Member at OREL Corporation. In 2018, they co-founded Kannys Lab. In 2019, they became a member of the Mora Hiking Club and held roles on both the Research and Development Committee and the Administration Committee. Nimna also joined the Rotaract Club of University of Moratuwa, where they served as Vice President of Digital Communication and Director of IT. During their time with the club, they worked on various projects and committees. In 2020, Nimna Perera became the Community Lead of the Mora FOSS Community, focusing on raising awareness and contributing to Free and Open Source Software. Nimna also became the Club Captain of the Mora Mozilla Campus Club, dedicated to promoting open source projects. In 2021, they took on the role of Joint Director of Digital Communication Services at Rotaract District 3220, overseeing the administrative body of all Rotaract Clubs. Additionally, they held the position of President at INTECS - UoM, leading the student society for the Faculty of IT at the University of Moratuwa. Currently, they are working as a Software Engineer at 99x.
Nimna Perera completed their primary and secondary education from 2009 to 2017 at Ananda College. In 2019, they enrolled at the University of Moratuwa and pursued a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Information Technology. Nimna is expected to finish their degree in 2023. Additionally, they obtained several certifications including the Microsoft AI Classroom Series from Microsoft in October 2020, Python certification from HackerRank in September 2020, Angular certification from HackerRank in July 2020, Problem Solving certification from HackerRank in July 2020, Google Code-in 2015 Participation Certificate from Google in February 2016, and the Scrum Foundation Professional Certificate (SFPC) from CertiProf in November 2020.
