Alexis Freier-Johnson has extensive work experience in the food industry, with a focus on pasta. Alexis is currently the Director of R&D and Commercialization- Pasta at 8th Avenue Food & Provisions since 2022. Prior to this, they held various roles at Dakota Growers Pasta Company from 2009 to 2022, including Senior Manager, Commercialization, Pasta from 2018 to 2022, Research & Development and Technical Services Manager from 2013 to 2018, and Research & Development/ Quality Control Specialist from 2009 to 2013. Alexis also worked as a Lab Assistant/Intern at Northern Crops Institute from 2008 to 2009 and as a Rangeland Research Technician at North Dakota State University Central Grasslands Research Extension Center from 2003 to 2007.
Alexis Freier-Johnson began their education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, with a minor in Food Safety, from North Dakota State University. Alexis attended the university from 2005 to 2009.
Building on their undergraduate degree, Alexis pursued further education and acquired a Master of Science (MS) in Food Science from Kansas State University. Their studies at Kansas State University took place from 2013 to 2017.
In addition to their academic achievements, Alexis has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. These include the Foreign Supplier Verification Program certification from the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), obtained in September 2017. Alexis also completed the Food Safety Management Systems Lead Auditor Training at Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance in August 2016. Alexis has further demonstrated their expertise by becoming a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual through the Food Safety Preventative Controls Alliance in March 2016.
Furthermore, Alexis has pursued a Certified Quality Technician certification from the American Society for Quality, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are unknown.
