Niel was a co-founder of the Centre for Effective Altruism and previously served as Assistant Director at Oxford University's Future of Humanity Institute. He holds a PhD in physics from Oxford, and served as a climate science advisor to the Office of the President of the Maldives. Niel sits on the board of the Centre for Long-Term Resilience.
