Phil Woodson

Sr. Director, Solutions Architecture at 4G Clinical

Phil Woodson has a strong background in software development, particularly in the clinical research industry. Phil started their career at Phase Forward as a Software Developer and later became a Lead Developer and Technical Lead. During their time at Phase Forward, Phil supervised multiple projects, facilitated interactions between development and IT teams, and acted as a Subject Matter Expert for the IRT system. Phil also provided operational guidance and led the development team for the release of IRT v5.0.

After their role at Phase Forward, Phil joined BioClinica as a Lead Programmer Analyst and later became a Senior Programmer Analyst. Phil led the development team responsible for the Trident IRT system, maintained a library of custom code modules, and served as a top escalation point for IT and help desk related issues. Phil also played a key role in the development and release of BioClinica's Trident IRT v1.0.

Following their time at BioClinica, Phil worked at Y Prime as a Manager of Software Development, Application Services. Phil managed a team of developers and provided subject matter expertise for IRT and eCOA applications. Phil was responsible for recruiting and mentoring team members, as well as providing time and cost estimates for projects.

Phil then moved on to endpoint Clinical, where they served as a Lead Software Developer. Phil gained experience in leading software development projects before transitioning to their current role at 4G Clinical. At 4G Clinical, Phil has held multiple positions including Senior Software Engineer, Director of Technical Delivery, and currently, Sr. Director of Solutions Architecture. Phil has been instrumental in designing and developing various components of 4G's IRT system, as well as creating a configurable integration platform for outside systems.

Phil Woodson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University, where they studied from 2003 to 2008. In 2016, they became a Certified Scrum Master through the Scrum Alliance. Additionally, in June 2023, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
