Daniel Kennedy

Research Director, Information Security & Networking at 451 Research

Daniel Kennedy has worked in various roles throughout their career. Daniel started as a Treasury Analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette Inc. in 1998, where they developed cash management reporting systems and other processes. Daniel then worked as a Senior Engineer at Inautix Technologies from 1999 to 2000.

From 2001 to 2004, Daniel held positions at Pershing LLC, starting as a Team Leader and later becoming a Development Manager. Daniel then worked at Pershing, An affiliate of The Bank of New York from 2005 to 2007, as a Program Manager in Application Security.

Daniel joined D.B. Zwirn & Co., L.P. in 2007, where they served as the Global Head of Information Security and Senior Vice President until 2010. In this role, they were responsible for policy development and enforcement, security architecture, and vendor due diligence. Daniel also served as the Business Continuity Planning Officer and Head of Facilities Management.

Following this, Daniel founded Praetorian Security Group, LLC in 2010 where they served as a Partner until 2011. Daniel then joined The 451 Group as a Research Director in Information Security & Networking in 2011, focusing on user-driven analyst research and offering insights in the application security space.

Daniel Kennedy has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Information Management and Technology from Syracuse University. Daniel also has a Master's of Science degree in Information Security & Assurance from Norwich University. Daniel's education also includes a Master's of Science degree in Management of Information Systems from Stevens Institute of Technology. Additionally, they hold certifications such as CISSP from (ISC)², C|EH from EC-Council, and a Series 7 License from FINRA.
