Mark Piehl, MD, MPH has been working in the medical field since 1999. Mark began their career at WakeMed as the Assistant Medical Director of WakeMed Mobile Critical Care, a Pediatric Critical Care Physician, and Medical Director of WakeMed Children's Hospital. In 2002, they became a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2009, they took on the role of Director of Pediatrics at WakeMed Physician Practices. In 2015, they became the Chief Medical Officer & Co-Founder of 410 Medical.
Mark Piehl, MD, MPH has a long and varied educational background. Mark obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College in 1989, majoring in German and Pre-Med. Mark then studied German, Theirtory, and Spanish at The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg from 1989 to 1990. In 1995, they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Mark also obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the same institution in 1993-1994. In 1995-1999, they completed a Residency in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Finally, from 2002-2006, they completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at the same institution. Additionally, they are an Advanced Pediatric Life Support Instructor certified by the American Heart Association's Professional Education Center.
