Karen Turnbull

Head Of Global Literacy Content And Curriculum at 3P Learning

Karen Turnbull has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Karen began their career in 1993 at St Paul's Grammar School Penrith as a Curriculum Coordinator and PYP Coordinator for the International Baccalaureate. Karen worked there until 2002 and had the privilege of being the first Kindergarten teacher at the school. Karen then joined the NSW Department of Education as a Senior Education Consultant in Science and Technology until 2005. Karen returned to St Paul's Grammar School Penrith in 2005 as a Learning Support Manager for students in Year 7-12. In 2006, they joined the NSW Department of Education again, this time as a Senior Education Consultant in Literacy, working at a regional level to support schools in Penrith and the Blue Mountains. Karen worked there until 2008. Karen then moved on to The Scots College as the Director of the Early Learning Centre from 2008 to 2012. Karen led the early learning campus and introduced preschool and long day care services to the college. From 2012 to 2016, Karen worked at the NSW Department of Education as a Senior Education Officer and Teacher, implementing programs in early childhood education and care. Karen played a key role in implementing the new National Quality Assessment Program in early childhood services in NSW. In 2016, Karen joined 3P Learning as the Head of Global Literacy Content and Curriculum. Karen designed a new set of literacy products aimed at improving students' reading and writing skills. In 2019, Karen joined Affinity Education Group as a Quality Advisor. Karen'sroles in this position include advising on quality and compliance matters.

Karen Turnbull has a Master's degree, a Bachelor's degree, and a Graduate certificate in Pedagogy from the University of Newcastle. Karen also attended Newcastle Grammar School. Additionally, they hold certification as a Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance.
