Mathieu Aubailly

CTO at 3DISC

Mathieu Aubailly has over 15 years of experience in the field of electro-optics. Mathieu began their career in 2001 as a Doctoral Research Assistant at Michigan Technological University, where they developed image reconstruction algorithms in MATLAB for compensation of anisoplanatism in wide field-of-view adaptive optics images. In 2005, they began working as an Electro-Optics R&D Engineer at the University of Maryland, funded by the Army Research Lab. During this time, they developed and patented video enhancement algorithms in C/C++ and CUDA based on the "lucky-region fusion" technique. Mathieu also worked as an Image Processing Engineer (consultant) at Kestrel Corp., where they implemented algorithms in MATLAB for electro-optics sensor for direct wavefront calculation based on the "distorted grating" technique. From 2012 to 2015, Mathieu Aubailly worked at Optonicus as a Senior Image Processing Engineer and a consultant. During this time, they managed and performed a Phase II R&D project for an electro-optics sensor for imaging through turbulence and atmosphere characterization. Mathieu also developed, debugged, calibrated and evaluated an optical/imaging sensor prototype. Finally, Mathieu Aubailly worked at 3DISC from 2015 to the present, where they have held the roles of CTO and Lead Systems Engineer.

Mathieu Aubailly obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 2005. Prior to this, they earned a MS in Electrical Engineering from Ecole nationale supérieure de l'Electronique et de ses Applications between 1998 and 2001.
