Susan Sajadi

Engineering Consultant at 33 Buckets

Susan is an engineering consultant with 33 Buckets. She helped implement her first clean water project with 33 Buckets in 2016 and has been involved ever since. She has a background in engineering and has been involved as a student and faculty associate with Arizona State University’s EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service) since 2012. She is passionate about humanitarian engineering work, and has worked on service-oriented engineering projects, from her local community in Tempe, AZ all the way to Bondo, Kenya.

Susan will never forget her experience completing a clean water project in the rural community of Huilcapata, Peru and returning to the community two years later to see the tremendous impact the project had on the school--including the school winning awards for sustainability and water management! She will always be inspired by the enthusiasm of the community during that project—with students helping clear the branches and wood where the filter housing would be--everyone helping take the first steps together.

When she is not working on projects, you can find Susan studying to complete her PhD, traveling around the world (favorite destinations including Iran, Guatemala, and of course Peru), tending to her garden and plants, or hiking mountains throughout Arizona.
