Shad Downey's work experience begins in 2006 as a FRINQ - Peer Mentor at Portland State University. In 2009, they join Stellaractive as a Lead Developer until November 2012. From November 2012 onwards, they work at 1stdibs.com, starting as a Senior Developer and later becoming a Software Architect and Director in October 2019.

Shad Downey attended Portland State University from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology.
