Wei Dai is a seasoned professional in the field of cryptography and blockchain technology, currently serving as a Research Partner at 1kx since April 2023. Previously, Wei held the same title at Bain Capital Crypto, focusing on the sourcing and diligence of blockchain startups and providing support for portfolio companies, particularly in zero-knowledge cryptography and protocol design. Wei's expertise also includes experience as a Cryptographer at Heliax, where design and implementation of zero-knowledge circuits were key responsibilities. Wei's career began with internships at NTT Research and Visa. Academically, Wei earned a PhD in Cryptography from the UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering, as well as a Master's in Computer Science and a Bachelor's in Mathematics and Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara.
