Nolan Galea has worked in multiple roles in the IT and project management field since 2013. In 2013, they worked as a Trainer for the Life+ Project - for the Management of Nitrates in Agriculture and Livestock Breeding at the Ministry of Resources and Rural Affairs (Malta). This role involved aiding a team on a nationwide soil collection campaign, coordinating an intensive 6-month laboratory testing (NPK) schedule for 3000 samples, and organizing group as well as one-to- one meetings discussing the Nitrates Directive and interpreting laboratory results. From 2016 to 2022, they worked at the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights as both a Project Manager and an Assistant Project Manager. Their roles included working directly with developers, testers, program managers and customers to define features, technical user stories and resolve any technical issues; working closely with project managers to align on the vision, program backlog and roadmap; acting as stakeholder of specific product backlog items and working closely with development teams; identification and inclusion of potential business partners as key stakeholders; creating and editing of PowerPoint presentations and project documentation; providing regular updates to the management; and monitoring and reviewing project progress and identifying improvements and efficiencies. Currently, they work at Companial (formerly known as 1ClickFactory) as an IT Project Manager. Their roles include leading and delivering international Microsoft Dynamics upgrade and development projects, coordinating people and processes to ensure that projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results, developing a project plan and following up on execution, directing and managing project work, monitoring status of the tasks, communicating with project stakeholders, escalating deviations from the initial project plan, ensuring project execution quality, monitoring potential project risks, opportunities, and issues that may impact the project, providing leadership and direction to project team members, closing projects by collecting and documenting Lessons learned, and facilitating project reviews.
Nolan Galea obtained a Master's Degree in Medicinal Plants and Functional Foods from Newcastle University between 2014 and 2015. In 2017, they completed a Complete Course in Professional Photography from the New York Institute of Photography. Between 2009 and 2012, they obtained a BS.c (Hons) Animal Management from MCAST Agribusiness. In addition, they have obtained various certifications from Coursera, Google Digital Academy (Skillshop), Better Training for Safer Food, Singapore Environment Institute, European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), and EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
