Phillip Thomas, CHST, CRIS, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Phillip began their career as an Electrician at LMI Systems, Inc. in 1999, gaining certifications and continuing their education while on the job. Phillip then ventured into owning their own business as the Owner of Thomas Contracting in 2003, where they built strong relationships with homeowners and completed home remodeling projects. In 2004, they joined LMI Electrical as a Foreman, leading large teams and ensuring the successful completion of electrical construction projects. Phillip then took on the role of Superintendent at Foster and Company in 2007, managing subs and overseeing the construction of a senior living facility. Phillip later worked as a Project Coordinator at Ritecom Group from 2008 to 2010, coordinating teams and assisting in the installation of internet infrastructures. In 2010, they joined Buildrite Construction Corp as a Superintendent, where they designed an operations manual and scheduled work for remodels. From 2011 to 2013, Phillip worked at Premier Contracting as a Contractor/Contractor Coordinator, focusing on customer service and conflict resolution. Their next role was at Reeves Young LLC from 2013 to 2019, where they served as the Director of Safety and Risk Management, holding extensive qualifications and certifications. Phillip then joined BITCO Insurance Companies in 2019 as a Risk Control Consultant, providing expertise and consulting services. Currently, Phillip works at 1910 Legacy Enterprises as the Director of Safety.
Phillip Thomas, CHST, CRIS, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University, which they obtained between 2020 and 2023. Phillip also has a Certificate of Construction Safety and Health from the Georgia Institute of Technology, acquired from 2013 to 2014. In addition, they have completed coursework in Construction Safety and Health at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Phillip Thomas has obtained various certifications, including CHST from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals in 2018 and Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist from the International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI) in 2020. Phillip has also received certifications related to first aid, flagging instruction, rigging training, conservation, and training in HAZWOPER and HAZMAT.
