Zachary Bent currently serves as the Sr. Director of New Product Development at 10X Genomics since October 2014. Prior to this role, Zachary was a Postdoctoral Appointee in Systems Biology at Sandia National Laboratories, where leadership was demonstrated in projects related to novel library generation and RNA-Seq for pathogen discovery. As a graduate researcher at UC Davis, Zachary focused on the regulation and expression of Yersinia enterocolitica type III secretion systems, developing a multi-color flow cytometry system. Additional experience includes an internship at Novozymes, utilizing synthetic biology techniques, and an undergraduate research position at Cornell University, focusing on bacteriocin-producing bacteria. Zachary holds a PhD in Microbiology with a Designated Emphasis in Biotechnology from the University of California, Davis, and a BA in Biological Science with a concentration in Microbiology from Cornell University.
