Divya Venugopal is the General Counsel for Zurich Insurance in Singapore, having assumed the role in January 2023. Prior to this, Divya held the position of Director, Legal at both Pacific Life Re and UnderwriteMe from January 2019 to January 2023. Earlier experience includes serving as an Associate at Allen & Overy, where Divya focused on complex commercial contracts and financing transactions across India and South-East Asia, and at Sidley Austin LLP, specializing in cross-border financing transactions and strategic litigation advice. Divya began a legal career as an Associate at Slaughter and May, working on multi-jurisdictional financing and commercial transactions, and completed a judicial clerkship at the Supreme Court of India. Divya holds an LLM in Media Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA LLB (Hons) from the National Academy of Legal Studies & Research, University Hyderabad.
