Jay Ferrante

Director of Engineering at Zulu Pods

Jay Ferrante has a diverse work experience spanning from 2008 to the present. Jay began their career as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Sikorsky Aircraft, where they validated production plans for flight safety parts. Jay then worked as a Research Assistant at the Fluid Dynamics Lab, where they focused on modeling wind turbines. Jay continued their internship at Sikorsky Aircraft, this time in the Transmission Housing Cell, and later joined the company full-time as a Test Engineer. Jay took on increasing levels of responsibility, becoming a Senior Test Engineer and then a Deputy Lead Test Engineer, overseeing testing on the CH-53K helicopter. Jay also worked at Pratt & Whitney as a Senior Project Manager, and at Zulu Pods, Inc. as the Director of Engineering. In addition to their engineering roles, they have volunteered as a Firefighter and EMT at Beacon Hose Company #1. Throughout their career, Jay has demonstrated strong technical skills and the ability to lead interdisciplinary teams. Jay holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Jay Ferrante completed their education with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, which spanned from 2005 to 2010. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, from 2013 to 2016.
